Region Idol Returns to Crown Point with Cash Prizes and Live Music Competition

CROWN POINT, IN — Local musicians will compete for more than bragging rights this summer as Region Idol returns to Bulldog Park in Crown Point with over $1,500 in cash prizes and a featured performance opportunity at one of the Region’s premier summer festivals.

Beginning Wednesday, May 27, performers from across Northwest Indiana will compete during up to eight consecutive Wednesdays of live performances in an “American Idol”-style talent competition celebrating the Region’s growing music scene.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finalists, including:

• 1st Place — $750
• 2nd Place — $500
• 3rd Place — $250

In addition to the grand prize, the 2026 Region Idol champion will perform live at The Taste of Crown Point on July 18 at Bulldog Park.

Presented in partnership with the City of Crown Point, Mayor Pete Land, and the PACE Department, Region Idol is free and open to the public, offering weekly entertainment for audiences of all ages.

“We look forward to seeing local musicians compete for the Region Idol title,” said Pete Land.

“The local music scene is thriving in Crown Point, and this competition complements our popular free Summer Concert Series at Bulldog Park.”

Contestants will perform on a professional concert stage complete with full sound production and an experienced sound engineer, creating an authentic live-performance experience for both performers and audiences.

Guests attending Region Idol can enjoy:

• Local food trucks
• Bar service for guests 21 and older
• VIP parking available in the Chase Bank lot
• Free admission

Musicians interested in participating may register for a $55 entry fee at Region Idol, where additional event and sponsorship information is also available.

The City of Crown Point returns as the event’s “Executive Producer” Sponsor, Family Express is proud to sponsor at the “Co-Producer” level, while Albert’s Diamond Jewelers and Jaguar Land Rover South Shore and Lithographic Communications have joined as a “Director” as well. The Construction Advancement Foundation will be a “Sound Engineer” sponsor. Lake County Commissioner Kyle Allen and Gary Businessman Kyle Allen are “Stage Hand” sponsors.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Centers for Possibilities, supporting programs and services for children and adults living with cerebral palsy.
