Region Idol Singing Competition Rules

• All vocals must be performed live.
  • No lip-syncing or pre-recorded lead vocals permitted.
  • Performances must not exceed 5 minutes.
  • Contestants may perform:
    • with karaoke/backing tracks,
    • acoustic accompaniment (guitar or piano),
    •  or a cappella.
  • Contestants are responsible for providing approved music tracks in the required format before the performance.
  • Songs and performances must be appropriate for a family-friendly public event.

• Competition is open to amateur singers and performers.
• Contestants under 18 must have parent or guardian consent.
• Solo performers only unless otherwise approved by organizers.

• Contestants will be scored on:
  • Vocal quality and technique
  • Pitch and accuracy
  • Stage presence and audience engagement
  • Song interpretation and overall performance

• All contestants must be registered and entry fees paid prior to May 26th, 2026.
• Contestants must check in before the scheduled start time.
• Performance order will be determined by organizers.
• Failure to appear when called may result in disqualification.
• The Executive Producer, in consultation with the judges of the event, shall be the final and sole determinant of any and all issues, conflicts, or questions related to the competition.
• Judges’ decisions are final.

• Unsportsmanlike conduct toward judges, staff, contestants, or audience members will not be tolerated.
• Organizers reserve the right to disqualify contestants for rule violations or inappropriate behavior.
• By participating, contestants. grant permission for photographs, video, and promotional
• use related to the event.

• 1st Place: $750
• 2nd Place: $500
• 3rd Place: $250

The competition is hosted in cooperation with the City of Crown Point and will take place at

Bulldog Park beginning May 27th, 2026 and run for as many as 8 consecutive Wednesdays. 

The event is free to the public. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Competition begins promptly at 6:00 PM.
